Import Setup Field Descriptions
Field | Description |
---|---|
Import Type | Select the type of data that will be imported from the drop down list. |
Description | Type a description detailing what kind of data will be imported. |
File Type | Select the format of the file being imported from the drop down list, either Comma Separated Values or Fixed Length. |
Location | Select a folder that will be searched for files waiting to be imported. |
Current Import Location | Displays the current saved import location. |

This is the folder location where files will be dropped so that ProTrack Warehouse can import the files. Each import type has a configurable import location which must be set locally on the application server.
To set the Import Location:
Click and a popup window appears.

Select a file located within that folder.

Click to select the location. The 'Location' field will be populated with the folder location you have selected.

Click to save the import location for that Import Type. The 'Current Import Location' will replace the default location with the one you have selected.

Import fields will determine what data to send within a file along with the order of how the data will be sent. Each import type is configurable and the fields will vary from one import type to another. You may choose to import comma separated values or fixed length file types.
