The Learning Curve screen is used to create, view, edit, and delete learning curve plans from ProTrack Warehouse.

Learning Curves are used to give employees that are new to an activity additional time to learn, understand, and become efficient with the activity. Each review period the employee will be given a STAP (Standard Time Adjusted Percent) to work the activity. After a certain amount of time the employee has worked that activity, they will progress in the plan. This means the STAP they receive will become less. This will repeat for each review period until 0% is reached. At this point, the employee has completed the learning curve and will no longer receive STAP when working the activity.

Each learning curve plan has a configured:

  1. Review Period - time frame that ProTrack will look into for the accumulated exposure time
  2. Minimum Exposure Hours - the required amount of time the employee must work in the activity before they can progress in the plan

If the employee does not meet the minimum exposure hours in a review period, ProTrack will look into the next review period to see if any hours were worked under the activity and accumulate the time. This accumulated time will then be compared against the minimum exposure hours. If the accumulated time exceeds the minimum exposure hours, the employee will progress in the learning curve for the next review period. This will continue until the employee has progressed through all the STAPs or the duration of the plan has been hit.

In this example, the employee only worked 36 hours in the first review period so ProTrack looked into the following review period. The total of Review Period 1 & 2 equals 60 hours which is greater than the minimum exposure hours of 40. The employee will receive a STAP of 15% for these two review periods. In the third review period, the hour count will reset back to zero and the employee progressed in the plan which means they will receive only 10% additional time as opposed to the 15%.
